Many of you know that my summer has been quite full with family events (coordinated one family reunion and traveled to attend another one) and spending quality time with my grand children.
BTW, being a grandmother is the best job on earth!
While my summer months has been filled with toys, doing lots of extra laundry, television channels that I don’t watch blaring in the background and eating out way too much (I have the extra pounds to show for it), my mind has always ventured back to my business because it is who I am.
Sometimes though, we have to step back and look at what truly matters. For me, that was spending quality time with those I love most.
Now that the festivities are behind me; linen all put back in their proper place and toys packed up in the garage until the next go-round, I am now ready to dive into doing what I do best, helping others to identify what they could be doing and eliminating the obstacles that are standing in their way.
With that said, I completed my month-end review, and boy was it just the kick-in-the-pants I needed! It allowed me to see how far behind I had gone as it relates to my goals for the year given the “vacation” I took this past month.
If you were to ask me what I had accomplished, off the top of my head, I would have replied, “Absolutely Nothing!” But after completing this month-end review, I realized that I had actually accomplished a lot. These are activities and thought-processes that I never would have picked up on had I not taken the time to sit back and reflect on my activities.
I am now re-energized and back on track for accomplishing my goals for the remainder of the year!
Did I have to adjust my goals? Absolutely!
Am I disappointed? Heavens No!
I am however, thankful for the opportunity to look at where I am on a monthly basis and exciting about the possibilities ahead based on the work I am willing to do.
Are You Ready For a Kick-in-the-Pants?
It doesn’t hurt like you might think. I will be conducting my “Logistics of Life” webcast within the next two weeks. I hope that you will join me. Leave a comment, email me (firstname.lastname@example.org) or connect with me on www.facebook.com/mywildernessjourneys for your personal invitation. This will be your opportunity to find out how your commitment to doing the work to reach your goals will position you for forward progression in the coming year.
COMING YEAR you say? You mean 2014? Yes, absolutely! If you don’t start now, you may never gain the momentum you need for a productive new year and you’ll look back at 2013 with regrets wondering where it went.
